Trina Olson

CMSCA President
Milaca High School

I am honored to be serving as your president and to be working with such an amazing group of dedicated professionals!   I am currently in my eleventh year as a school counselor for 7th-12th graders at Milaca High School.  Prior to working as a school counselor, I was an agriculture teacher for eight years.  I am passionate about advocating for our profession and students and am excited to have the opportunity to continue to work to support and collaborate with school counselors in the Central region and across the State!  My husband and I live in Braham, MN with our two daughters.  We stay very busy with basketball, volleyball, softball, and other school activities.  In my free time, I love being outside!  I enjoy camping, hunting, reading, and anything related to the North Shore (especially fishing Lake Superior).

Hello Central MN School Counselors! I am honored to be serving as the Past President of the Central Division. I have been a school counselor in the Brainerd School District for the past 6 years and am excited to work with so many wonderful professional school counselors in our area. Advocating for students and for our profession is a passion of mine and what better way to do that than to be involved in our local division. Shelly Collison

Treasurer
ROCORI High School

Hello Counselors! My name is Shelly Collison and I will be your CMSCA Treasurer. This is my seventh year as a school counselor, but my first at ROCORI High School! This year is proving to be just as busy and hectic as the last. There is always something new around the corner to experience and learn, which is one thing I love about being a counselor. In my free time I enjoy being outside, spending time with my family and friends, and doing anything that involves photography. I look forward to meeting and building connections with all of you at the Winter Conference and throughout the school year!

Ricky Rud

Public Relations
North Junior High School

I am enjoying my fourth year at North Jr High in St. Cloud.  I am the 7th grade counselor for 2017-18.  I really enjoy working with middle school students due to their high energy and curiosity.

I am married to my best friend, Amber.  She is my calm, better half.  Amber works at the Westwood Church office and also serves monthly as a member of the Air National Guard. We have two daughters, Lydia and Elliana.

I enjoy being active and outside with my family, watching and playing basketball, and working on my fiction novel.  I hope to get published in the next 5 years.....which is what I said 6 years ago!!!

I love being a counselor because I get to use my goofy sense of humor with young people while also being an advocate for students.

Greetings to all you counselors! I hope you all are looking forward to another eventful school year.  As a counselor within the ROCORI School District, I am truly blessed with having the opportunity to work with four other AWESOME school counselors as well as interacting with all of you!  When not working, in my spare time I enjoy spoiling my nieces and nephew, scrapbooking, spending time at the gym, and sharing time with my family and friends. My recent highlight, meeting Shaun T!!! It was so AWESOME! I am hoping that as we all work with are growing caseloads that you take the time to take care of you.  A good reason to attend our upcoming conference!!!  Continue to ROCK and look forward to seeing you all soon!
