I am honored to be serving as your president and to be working with such an amazing group of dedicated professionals! I am currently in my eleventh year as a school counselor for 7th-12th graders at Milaca High School. Prior to working as a school counselor, I was an agriculture teacher for eight years. I am passionate about advocating for our profession and students and am excited to have the opportunity to continue to work to support and collaborate with school counselors in the Central region and across the State! My husband and I live in Braham, MN with our two daughters. We stay very busy with basketball, volleyball, softball, and other school activities. In my free time, I love being outside! I enjoy camping, hunting, reading, and anything related to the North Shore (especially fishing Lake Superior).
I am enjoying my sixth year at North Jr High in St. Cloud. I am the 8th grade counselor for the 2018-19 school year. I really enjoy working with middle school students due to their high energy and curiosity.
I am married to my best friend, Amber. She is my calm, better half. Amber works at the Westwood Church office and also serves monthly as a member of the Air National Guard. We have two daughters, Lydia and Elliana.
I enjoy spending time with my family, being active outside, and watching and playing basketball.I love being a counselor because I get to use my goofy sense of humor with young people while also being an advocate for students.
Hello CMSCA! My name is Rick Larson, and I am honored and excited to be serving on the CMSCA board. I have felt very fortunate to be a member of CMSCA since I started in school counseling in 1999. The people and the yearly conference have helped me greatly as I have grown as a school counselor. I received my masters in school counseling at St. Cloud State and have been working at Apollo High School in St. Cloud since 1999. My wife and I live in Sartell with our three children.
